Qatar Foodie Tour: MARKET by Jean-Georges (W Doha)

I'm a HUGE fan of the Jean Georges-Marja Vongerichten couple and it was kind of a wish-come-true for me to dine in one of the many restaurants of the top and world-renowned chef, Jean-Georges.

MARKET by Jean-Georges Restaurant at W Doha Hotel & Residences

We visited Market on a Saturday for their 'Lunch Express', a three-course meal for an affordable price of QR 95 per person. I booked a table for three, hours before our visit because from what I heard and read on the internet, the restaurant gets really packed during lunch and dinner.

As expected, the restaurant's ambiance and even the service was really good. The staff greeted us upon our arrival and one other staff confirmed our reservation and then led us to our table. After taking our orders, a complimentary bread basket was given, and to tell you the truth, it was one of the best bread baskets I've ever had.

Meet by foodie tour buddies! My cousin Chin and my mum Daisy

For the starters, I ordered Salmon Marinated with Orange, Creme Fraiche, Cilantro; my Mom had the Crispy Calamari, Rosemary-Lemon dip and my cousin had the Steamed Shrimp Salad, Avocado, Mushroom, House Vinaigrette.

Three types of appetizers

For the main course, my mom and my cousin both had the Salmon while I had the Chicken. I got to taste the fish with the sauce and mashed potato and it was a perfect match, plus! the fish wasn't overcooked. The chicken, was amazing. It was juicy, tender and delicious, just how chicken is supposed to be cooked. The pepper and yellow powder on the side goes really well with the chicken and the sweet green beans.

Slowly cooked Salmon, Sugar Snap Peas, Mashed Potatoes, Truffle Vinaigrette  &  Lemon-Pepper Chicken Steak with Green Beans

And for the last part, the desserts! We decided to order three different things so we can try them all. My favorite out of these three would be the Molten Chocolate cake with Vanilla Ice Cream. The cake was soft, the warm lava-like chocolate at the center was so good, not too sweet, and was perfect with the ice cream. I had to take out the Nougatine so I can munch on it last because from the blogs I've read, I knew that it'd be lovely.

To sum it all up, it was a perfect and lovely weekend lunch out. I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family in Doha.

Instagram hashtag: #먹스타그램 (meog-seu-ta-geu-raem)

The Korean foodporn hashtag on Instagram: #먹스타그램 I've been active on Instagram(IG) for over a year now and a couple of months ago I decided to just make my instagram a food photo blog. If you check my Instagram, the photos are usually of food I eat everyday. I've been a Korean food junkie since my university days so I love checking out Korean foodporn shots on the internet.  As many Instagram users know, hashtags are used to make your photos be more popular and accessible and so I use a lot of hashtags on my photos.  I've been cooking a lot of Korean food nowadays because of the availability issues I have in the country where I live. I started using the hashtag #Koreanfood months ago and I noticed that a lot of Koreans I see on Instagram use the hashtag #먹스타그램.       먹스타그램 hashtag search on Instagram If I were to translate it in English, its an IG slang for meog (eat) and -stagram for Instagram. If you're a Korean foodporn junkie, you might as well use t

My 'BIGSTAR on After School Club' Experience I usually sign up for the live audience of Arirang World's After School Club but this episode was just amazing and so memorable for me.  When ASC announced that Bigstar would be appearing for the next episode, I immediately clicked and registered for the live audience, because of 'FEEL DOG'!
