In lieu with the COP18 Climate Change Meet here in Doha, Qatar, the Sustainable Expo opened yesterday, November 26 2012.
The expo boasts of projects and plans supporting Sustainable and Renewable Energy for a better future.
I was able to visit and learn a lot of sustainable plans of companies like Saudi Aramco, Sabic and Qatargas.
A visit to the booths of different energy sectors is a must do. Most of these booths have interactive ways of learning like the elevator-like room by Shell and motion-sensitive booths on the Saudi (KSA) part.
Visitors and participants can aslo get free snacks, juices and coffee from the Hospitality Area. There were even two lovely ladies who inks free henna to guests and visitors.
Because guests from all over the world were expected to come, the COP18 Commitee prepared Shuttle buses to go around QNCC (Qatar National Convention Center), DEC (Doha Exhibition Center) and to different hotels in Doha. Visitors can ride these shuttle buses for free. Luckily, because we live in West Bay, we were able to ride on bus no. 28 (Retaj Al Rayyan route).
This expo, in my opinion, is a very good event that will help educate a lot of expats and nationals here in Qatar. This event gave us tips about how we can help save the environment starting from ourselves and spreading it to the whole community.
Plus! Booths give out paper bags with scarves, pens, keychains, usbs or magazines.
This is an amazing event, and I'm hoping that in the following days, more people will join and support this cause. We live in this planet, we have to take care of it.
