DOHA – April 11, 2013 | Thursday
My
friend and Carlo and I had been planning to visit this restaurant since I came
back to Doha last June 2012. Hilton Doha is located at West Bay (Diplomatic
Area), just beside Four Seasons Hotel Doha.
According
to the website diningindoha.com, booking a reservation for this restaurant is
a-must, especially on Thursday evenings. You can go for their outdoor seats,
facing the sea with a romantic feel at night; or go for their indoor seats with
dimmed lights for a more comfortable dining experience. However, if you choose
to go for the outdoor seats, you’re only allowed to order from their amazing
selection of appetizers and drinks. Indoor seats are good for the main course,
appetizers and drinks. This restaurant is quite famous among expats here in
Qatar.
The restaurant’s
ambiance was amazing. The live Cuban band playing is a huge plus! Trader Vic’s Doha introduces a Polynesian theme, same goes
with their menu, which also included Asian cuisines like Filipino, Korean, Japanese, Thai and
Chinese.
The food was nice, and luckily, service was great as well
(because I’ve read so many bad reviews and comments about the restaurant’s service).
However, this isn’t the restaurant for a hungry-hedgehog. If you’re in for a
light meal, a nice place to chill and spend your Thursday evening with friends,
this place is very much recommended.
This restaurant serve alcoholic drinks so everyone's required to show your Qatari ID before entering place, just to check if the person is above 18 (years old).
Here are some photos of our dining experience at Trader Vic’s
Doha.
Food we ordered for the evening.
BBQ Salmon w/ Crab cakes - Steamed Sea-bass Cantonese-style - Volcano Prawns - Paper-thin Filet of Beef Flambé - Lamb Chops
First Trader Vic's experience with Mum, Ate Chin (cousin), Tita Gie and her hubby Kuya Niño.
Was also able to experience something unique.
This guy cooked the Paper-thin Filet of Beef Flambé near our table.
Also, check out Hilton Doha's amazing indoor and outdoor facilities.

Trader Vic's is a place I'd recommend to my friends. A good place to chill with family and friends. Food and ambiance is very nice.
