Shakespeare and Co in Qatar has become one of the most-loved restaurant in Doha. With good dining experience shared by friends, I was lucky to have been invited to their latest branch at The Pearl.  Shakespeare and Co Main Entrance at 12 La Croisette, Porto Arabia The Pearl Doha

Making My Momma Happy :)

My bestfriend Carlo traveled to Germany last week and I asked him to get me something nice for my mom. I finally bought a nice gift for the 'Best Mom on Earth'. :)  I got her a Louis Vuitton Sarah wallet (Monogram) as a 'Thank You' gift.  I'm just so happy that she's happy so I wanted to share it with everyone.  See how happy she is?  My mom posing with her new LV and the Amsterdam fridge magnet, addition to her magnet collection Huge Thank You to Carlo and Markus for making this thing possible. Plus! They got an Amsterdam (Netherlands) fridge magnet for my mum's collection! Thank you guys! So sweet! :*  Follow me through my food adventures on Instagram!  @debbietingzon

Qatar Foodie Tour: MARKET by Jean-Georges (W Doha)

I'm a HUGE fan of the Jean Georges-Marja Vongerichten couple and it was kind of a wish-come-true for me to dine in one of the many restaurants of the top and world-renowned chef, Jean-Georges. MARKET by Jean-Georges Restaurant at W Doha Hotel & Residences

Qatar Foodie Tour: Iftar at Chili's Qatar (City Centre Doha)

It's Food Blog time again! During Ramadan, our Muslim brothers and sisters spend a whole month  fasting from dawn to sunset. In the evening, once the sun sets, they break their fast during Iftar. Because of this, most of the restaurants here in Qatar offer Iftar and Suhoor (pre-fast meal) promotions. Expats living in Qatar (even non-Muslims) enjoy these promotions because of the wide-variety of buffets (in hotels and Ramadan tents), amazing selection of set meals and discounted rates on  selected menu items in other restaurants.   Our first Iftar experience this year is with the American/Tex-Mex cuisine-based restaurant Chili's. We dined at the City Center Doha mall branch of Chili's with their 'IFTAR is all about SHARING' promotion at QAR 69.  'IFTAR is all about SHARING'  (photo from Chili's Qatar on Facebook)

West Bay Bus service in Doha

West Bay Bus West Bay Bus ad (grabbed from West Bay Bus on Facebook)  Today, I tried riding the new West Bay Bus service with my sister. It's FREE and we have two bus stops near our building. We took the Route 1 (red) bus today going to City Center and Route 2 (blue) going home.    Bus Stop No. 3 behind Movenpick Tower Doha It's really convenient because my mom and my sister can take the the Route 2 (blue) bus to the office (and get off at The Gate Mall).  This FREE service is offered by The Ministry of Transport and The Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning of Qatar.

Adventures of a Kpop fangirl: BIGSTAR on AFTER SCHOOL CLUB Experience

My 'BIGSTAR on After School Club' Experience I usually sign up for the live audience of Arirang World's After School Club but this episode was just amazing and so memorable for me.  When ASC announced that Bigstar would be appearing for the next episode, I immediately clicked and registered for the live audience, because of 'FEEL DOG'!

Defconn - Cocktail ft. Rania's T-ae

I think this song is great. Defconn's known for saying that all his albums were failures but I think this song is really good. I bet it'd be a good song for clubs and for people to dance to. It has that electro buzz in it.  Cocktail made me want to dance too.  " Boom! Boom! Boom! I like it. Boom! Boom! Boom! You know it!" Defconn's title track would make you shout " I want some cocktail! " ☺ Plus, this is something a person would really say in a bar/club.  Nevertheless, I would want to rate and give this song 5 stars (✮✮✮✮✮)!

Instagram hashtag: #먹스타그램 (meog-seu-ta-geu-raem)

The Korean foodporn hashtag on Instagram: #먹스타그램 I've been active on Instagram(IG) for over a year now and a couple of months ago I decided to just make my instagram a food photo blog. If you check my Instagram, the photos are usually of food I eat everyday. I've been a Korean food junkie since my university days so I love checking out Korean foodporn shots on the internet.  As many Instagram users know, hashtags are used to make your photos be more popular and accessible and so I use a lot of hashtags on my photos.  I've been cooking a lot of Korean food nowadays because of the availability issues I have in the country where I live. I started using the hashtag #Koreanfood months ago and I noticed that a lot of Koreans I see on Instagram use the hashtag #먹스타그램.       먹스타그램 hashtag search on Instagram If I were to translate it in English, its an IG slang for meog (eat) and -stagram for Instagram. If you're a Korean foodporn junkie, ...

Failon Ngayon | May 11, 2013 episode

photo credit: balita.com I don't know why this show fails to amuse me. Mali nga siguro yung tag-line ng show na to. "Aksyon at solusyon, ngayon." Bakit? Kasi wala namang s...

Korean Food Center in Qatar

Doha Finds: Korean Food Center in Doha I've been visiting this mart for the past year. This is the one and ONLY Korean Food Mart here in Doha! They sell limited korean items but you can definitely get basic Korean stuff like Ramyun (라면), Jjajangmyun (짜장면), Kimchi (김치), scrubber, tea (차), clay pots and frozen food. They even sell Korean table top stove (가스 렌즈), grill plate and Korean Ice Cream! The store is located at Al Jazeera road. Best landmark would be the corner of Red Lobster restaurant in C-Ring (the road that leads to the Ramada (now Radisson Blu) Hotel and Casa del Gelato. The ahjussi was really kind and gave us free ice cream because I spoke to him in Korean, I was kind of asking for it too. lol Hope this information was in anyway useful to my dearest friends (and for people who lives in Doha too) that are looking for this place. Til my next blog! Thanks for watching! For questions, suggestions etc., follow me on: twitter.com/debbietingzon K...

Trader Vic’s – Hilton Hotel Doha

DOHA  –   April 11, 2013 | Thursday My friend and Carlo and I had been planning to visit this restaurant since I came back to Doha last June 2012. Hilton Doha is located at West Bay (Diplomatic Area), just beside Four Seasons Hotel Doha. According to the website diningindoha.com, booking a reservation for this restaurant is a-must, especially on Thursday evenings. You can go for their outdoor seats, facing the sea with a romantic feel at night; or go for their indoor seats with dimmed lights for a more comfortable dining experience. However, if you choose to go for the outdoor seats, you’re only allowed to order from their amazing selection of appetizers and drinks. Indoor seats are good for the main course, appetizers and drinks. This restaurant is quite famous among expats here in Qatar. The restaurant’s ambiance was amazing. The live Cuban band playing is a huge plus! Trader Vic’s Doha introduces a Polynesian theme, same goes with their menu, which also inclu...

A Piece Of What I Think Is Good.

I just finished watching PNoy's SONA (2012) and I have to say, thumbs up for an awesome job Mr. President! The only thing that annoyed me was the rally along Commonwealth. I don't want to sound rude or anything, but why can't those people, who say they're 'poor', use their precious time and strength to work or find/do some useful things that can increase their income. Not waste their 'money' (if, it's theirs) on making placards and tarps, that eventually ends up being burned or thrown away after hours of protest. Why not use that money to buy food for their own family? Just like what my mom said earlier, "A person, poor(or not), should not be blaming their situation to the President." It is a person's choice to nurture him/herself for a better future. A lot of things can be sacrificed, other people must learn to set their priorities. It's a difficult thing to do, I myself is having a hard time dong it, but it's for the b...

It's More Fun In The Philippines: KALANGGAMAN ISLAND (Leyte)

Another family getaway during our week-long vacation in my parents' home province, LEYTE. My Dad had been telling stories about a beautiful island in his hometown, Palompon, Northern part of Leyte. Kalanggaman Island. An Island managed by the Local Government, the Municipality of Palompon. From the town proper, we had to ride a boat that can carry up to 15 people. There were 9 of us, including my aunt and her kids. The fees aren't really that expensive. There are three kinds of boats to choose from, according to its' capacity. 15 = Php 3,000 ; 25 = Php 3,500 ; 30 = Php 4,000 There is also an entrance fee, but it depends of the passenger/visitor is a local or a tourist. There are also discounts for students and kids 12 years old and below. The coast guard is also strict in implementing safety for the visitors of the island. The boat will never leave the port unless all passengers are buckled up, wearing their life-jackets. Two men stand as crew for the boat that was ren...

Graduation Day Hang-over :)

The FOUR years of EVERYTHING ends here. Thank you Facebook Timeline for making me see this awesome thing.  I ♥ you friends! A never-ending warmth.

A never-ending warmth. (an original essay by Debbie Tingzon) Original artwork by GeoRamzes on Deviantart The sun was bright up as I was walked down the stairs leading to the main hall of the school. It was nearly four in the afternoon and in less than half an hour, all classes will be dismissed. Madam Claire, our homeroom teacher, said her son had a high fever and that she needed to go home earlier than the usual time. I fixed my things, placed my books in the locker at the end of the classroom and went to the school cafeteria. There was Manong Henry, the school keeper, asking me why I was out early. "Madam Claire said Joshua had a fever", I answered as I grabbed two muffins at the bread counter. Manang Cecil was there, smiling brightly at the counter as I approached her and handed the food I chose. " Hi Gina. Dito mo kakainin? " (Hi Gina. You'll eat here?), she asked grinning at me. " Hindi po, take-out nalang. Padagdag na din po ng dal...

Happy Talk! (November 7,2011) - New Song

I was able to compose a new song. It's called ' Feel You '. The song still needs a few changes in it's keys. The lyrics of the song express the feeling of being able to hold someone's hands or being able to just have someone be there for you. It gives off the happiness and appreciation one can feel towards someone you love or you treasure. One line in this song goes, 'When we have each other, everything's just a part of forever.' Expressing how one's love (or just feelings) can be enough for someone. I will record the complete track next month (Christmas Vacation). Thank you! Check out twitter.com/debbietingzon for updates.
